Environmental Considerations

Our factory has moved outside the urban core of a major Chinese metropolitan area, due to newly introduced environmental legislation there.

The main pollutants produced during the manufacturing process are the particulate dust from working the stone and a small amount of fumes from the use of epoxy and fibreglass reinforcement.

Stone manufacture is a relatively clean industry, which uses a small amount of power and water as its main resources in the manufacturing process.

The largest component of the environmental footprint associated with our products is due to shipping it overseas. Because of the global nature of today’s economy, this shipping cost is unavoidable at the present time.

No child labour is used in any of the manufacturing processes of any Dancing Stone product.

Please keep in mind that our products, if they were manufactured in North America, would cost between three and five times the amount we charge to you, our customer.

Also, a lot more energy would be used production, due to the highly mechanized nature of Western manufacturing methods.

In addition, the skills required to make the complex and intricately detailed stone or wrought iron pieces sold by Dancing Stone are becoming increasingly difficult to find in our part of the world.
